WE ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLING FOR OUR SUMMER CULTURAL ENRICHMENT ARTS PROGRAM. THE SUMMER  PROGRAM STARTS JUNE 7 THROUGH JULY 31ST. 

7:30AM – 5:30PM.

Weekly classes:  African dance and drumming, ballet, tap, jazz, modern, Caribbean dance, world percussion and Tae Kwon do Martial Arts.

School programs:  Performances and Lecture demonstrations are offered on African culture through dance, drum and song.  Workshops are offered to elementary through high school and universities.

After school sessions:  An opportunity for young people to spend positive time after school hours being exposed to the discipline of dance, martial arts and tutoring on a regular basis.

OSCD Performing Company:  Students trained in traditional and traditionally based Dances with a concentration on the west, south and central Africa.  The troupe rehearses weekly and performs an average of 45 times per year.  Performance request are directed to the Artistic Director.  Annual auditions are generally held in September.

Cultural Journey:  Frequent travel tours will take participants to various master workshops, festivals and performances.  We also host master teachers and workshops to gain insight into a living culture.  Our vision is to take a trip to Africa and the Caribbean annually.

Cultural Dance Extravaganza:  An annual event featuring Orlando School of Cultural Dance as well as renowed performers from both the U.S. and Africa exhibiting both traditional and contemporary dance and music styles.

Collaborations:  OSCD has developed partnerships with organizations geared towards meeting the needs of youth in the community.  These organizations include Cultural Arts Research Ensemble, City of Orlando, Orange County Public Schools, WDW, Department of Juvenile Justice, and Buried Treasure Foundation.
